Mourning Room III: The moon is out tonight
Rauminstallation
A spatial poem by Belle Santos in collaboration with dramaturge Theresa Schlesinger and a composition by Nile Koetting/ atmospheric solutions.
The moon casts its light on the echo where the waves of the ocean once ran in and out of the shores of our earth. It looks at the blue planet, which is moving further and further away and is about to lose what makes it special: the colours, the biodiversity, the seasons ... But what remains is the view upwards. "Only the sight of the moon can dampen your worries. If you are so moved by its splendour, it is because you know that you are innocent of its orbit" (Bruno Latour). The moon has risen.
A space to lament a changed future in which we thought we would grow old together. A lullaby to comfort us through the darkness.
Visitors are invited to enter the room alone or together, to lie down, listen and linger. And to reflect on themes such as grief, connectedness, staying with the trouble, the metamorphosis of our world and its many farewells.
