Echoloten

The artist platform Rotterdam Presenta is showing a sample stand from its working time at Mineralbad Berg. The echo sounder is an instrument that can be used to measure water depths and navigate through nautical landscapes - this is how ships, whales and dolphins navigate: sound waves are sent to the bottom and the returning reflections depict the shallows of the landscape found there.

Rotterdam Presenta translate this technique into artistic strategies with which they explore their surroundings. At Echoloten in Bad Berg, they make their working process audible and visible: visitors are invited to resonate, reflect and contemplate with swimming goggles. There will be something special to drink at their meeting place, the Panoramabar on the recreation meadow.

Echoloten starts at the panorama bar on the recreation lawn in the outdoor area of the pool. Swimwear is not required for participation.
