Baustellen­gespräch #6: Über das Springen

Rotterdam Presenta invite you to prepare for the jump. Whether with mental leaps or sudden physical changes of position: Jumping allows us to dive through layers of landscape, land on unexpected ledges and look further from there. Possible jumps: head jumps, final jumps, quantum jumps, jumps over shadows, jumps into bowls, linguistic, evolutionary and technical jumps.

Together with our guests, we will test the theoretical and sensual handling of the moment of flying and the inevitable impact at the edge of the pool. An afternoon about the mental and emotional implications of jumping as a release exercise.

The construction site talks were created in Rotterdam Presenta's Düsseldorf studio in 2023, during construction work on a temporary rehearsal stage. The reason for this was the need to learn from experts and share this moment with the audience. It is a format for showing, playing and producing knowledge together.
